Job description:
 

  • Research various solar cell technologies and topologies toward solar panel characterization; Assess system compatibility for evaluation of economic and environmental feasibility.
  • Research experience in Thin film, poly crystalline, mono crystalline, III-V solar cells, Bifacial, hetero-junction solar cells; Familiar with IV curve, Fill Factor, Maximum power point, STC and NOTC.
  • Engineer and design solar systems to meet customer requirements. Select appropriate “overcurrent” protection devices to protect customer and utility equipment.
  • Perform computer simulation of solar photovoltaic generation performance using tools such as PVWatts to estimate energy production and optimize efficiency.
  • Perform equipment selection and prepare Bill of Materials to ensure compliance with utility requirements such as IEEE, UL and NEC standards.
  • Prepare one line diagrams and site plan and other installation documents to submit to utility, grants and permitting.
  • Coordinate state and utility inspection for NEC and NFPA compliance.
  • Evaluate system performance and monitor system health; Evaluate economic impact.
  • Prepare technical reports for federal grants like REAP for customers in the agricultural sector and bid proposals for RFPs.
  • Attend and conduct seminars and county fairs to learn and promote renewable energy systems.
 

Job Requirements:

  • M.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering or Environmental Engineering plus 1 year of experience in the job offered. Must have authorization to work indefinitely in the U.S.

Grant Writer & Researcher

Job description:

The grant writing and researching intern will submit grant applications on behalf of ecojiva, LLC customers, and help advance our mission through vigilant, innovative funding research.

Grant writers and researchers will be expected to:

  • Write and submit federal grant applications per federal agency guidelines.
  • Efficiently track and manage grant applications for entire grant lifecycle.
  • Manage grant application calendars and remain abreast of current program regulations.
  • Revise application processes and procedures as per grant maker regulations and customer needs.
  • Maintain open and active communication with grant applicants throughout entire grant lifecycle.
  • Maintain professional working relationship with grant maker representatives.
  • Research funding opportunities and develop fundraising plans for current customer demographic, as well as prospective customer demographic, including non-profit and religious organizations.
  • Effectively represent ecojiva, LLC at business and/or community meetings.
  • Assume additional related functions and lead special projects as directed.
 

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree (Bachelor’s degree preferred) in English/English Literature, Communications, Community Development, or related field.
  • One to three years of grant writing and/or research experience.
  • Capacity to simultaneously manage a number of varied projects in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Keen attention to detail and highly organized with a mind for thoroughness.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated initiative and independent thinking.
  • Ability to build relationships with potential donors and advance community outreach.

Accounting Assistant

We are looking for an administrative assistant intern who will provide accounting and general office assistance to ecojiva, LLC.

Accounting Assistant will be expected to:

  • Assist the controller with a variety of accounting duties, including maintaining ledger accounts, gathering and balancing bank account information, and preparing special reports.
  • Assist the office manager with a variety of general clerical duties.
  • Coordinate and maintain records for staff office space, phones, company credit cards, etc.
  • Create and maintain various documents using Microsoft Office.
  • Maintain a high level of security, keeping all information confidential.
  • Coordinate public relations and publicity opportunities.
  • Effectively represent ecojiva, LLC at business and/or community meetings.
